Rebel Music Documentary DVD
It may come as no surprise to the avid fans of the man himself, but the name Bob Marley and popular reggae music are synonymous with each other. What may not be so well known by many is that in the mind of Bob Marley as well as in the hearts and minds of the people that knew him so well, he was so much more than merely a reggae musician. Rebel Music has been created and put together on DVD to tell the heart wrenching yet fascinating story of the live and times of the legend himself, Bob marley. It encompasses every facet of the man, from the reggae superstar to the musical genius, the poet within and the knowledgable and sensitive prophet.
In the short life he lead prior to his untimely death at the age of just 36, Bob Marley created an incredibly stunning portfolio of his musical work. He was famous worldwide as a popular and much loved voice of reggae music and all that it stands for.
However, so few of the many loyal fans who loved his great music were truly aware of the depth and great range of Bob Marley's religious, political and philosophical beliefs.
Rebel Music is a powerful documentary that tells Bob Marley's story through the words and music of the man himself. It includes several interviews with some of the people who knew him best of all, including his beloved wife Rita, as well as fellow pioneer of reggae music Lee "Scratch" Perry and and members of his band, the Wailers.
Tracing his life from his impoverished roots and early childhood through to his involvement in Rastafarianism and musical evolution, Rebel Music comprehensively puts all the many intricate pieces of the jigsaw together of Bob Marley's life and portrays this astute and charming genius faithfully.
The DVD runs for 89 minutes and also contains some previously unheard recordings of Bob Marley music.
